7 Quick Layering Tips
This list is not meant to be complete or comprehensive - just some trail-tested helpful advice that just might work for you.

1. Light body-fit base layers are very effective in wicking moisture and trapping warm air next to your body. Use them.

2. Layering head gear is extremely effective in regulating body temperature. Try light headband and hat combinations, or two lightweight hats that can layer over each other. Adjust regularly as your tempo or effort fluctuates.

3. Layer evenly over your entire body – stacking many layers on your torso while leaving your legs unattended will leave you exposed to chills (or worse).

4. Don’t forget about your neck, keep it covered when chilled.

5. Hands and feet. Think about exertion level, conditions, and the time spent outside when deciding upon thickness and/or layering.

6. A short sleeve performance top underneath a long sleeve base layer increases warmth dramatically and increases wind resistance.

7. If active, don’t overdress. Start off cool or cold and get yourself warmed up. Put on a hat and a shell or heavier layer at your breaks.
