Atomic Mover 48 PosiGrip ski

The Mover 48 should be considered by any classic or touring skier looking for a speedy, yet casual performer for groomed trails. This ski is longer than a light touring ski giving it more of a  classic ski feel, and it is shorter and wider than a classic ski for more stability and control. Designed for sport and fitness skiers, this ski can handle ankle deep loose snow, but it really shines in groomed rails where it is smooth and fast. Classic and fitness skiers will thoroughly enjoy its smooth and relaxed feel during the kick phase. Fitness skiers will appreciate the stable feel of the 48mm width along with its pleasantly surprising speed.

Changes for 2011/12 include: a new 3D PosiGrip pattern which adds grip scale density under foot for better climbing and kick, and new graphics.

A base index of 3000 and an Ultra High Densolite Core creates a lightweight and dynamic touring ski. The 48-43-46 side-cut provides stability and control with an efficient kick.

More Than a Fitness Ski January 6, 2012

I was skeptical when Doug recommended this ski for me but decided to go for it. This ski grips like crazy and glides as well as much more expensive, twitchy "performance" waxless skis. Very smooth, stable, and natural. Best in the tracks but has the guts to venture out of the Nordic Center in existing tracks. It's flexed so that I'm skiing on a 196 instead of my usual 205, which makes things really fun! My only gripe is that it likes to go in a straight line, but that's a small price to pay. This is the perfect ski if you'd rather spend time skiing than waxing and/or if your over stupidly priced race skis that are poorly flexed.
